Traveling Volunteers

In 2012 Hope Village volunteers were able to finish the gutting and mucking from the 2011 Souris River flood and had an impact on 390 homes!

But … over 145 families – many whose members are children or elderly – are still in need of Hope Village volunteers to help them rebuild.

In 2013, our focus is on rebuilding so those families can get back home. If you have experience in remodeling or home improvement projects, we need you!

Note: No member of any group attempt to engage in any activity for which a skilled license is required by state or local government i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC. Volunteers with such licenses from other states are encouraged to note such on the registration form.

Since opening in April 2012, Hope Village has had the following:

They have worked 102,121 hours toward flood relief.
IndependentSector.org values a volunteer hour in North Dakota at just under $17.50.
That means that Hope Village, in conjunction with its partners, has contributed about $1,787,117 toward flood relief.

Where our volunteer teams are from

We’ve had teams in from 26 states and three Canadian provinces.

We’ve also had individual volunteers from other states as well as some multi-state teams like the five AmeriCorps NCCC groups that have rotated through. The graphic also includes Hope Builders, our local volunteer groups.
